A British lover of American music.

Currently living in the UK and completing an undergraduate degree in American Studies with a focus on American music.

I have a love for the music that has grown across and out of the United States: from the West Coast to the East Coast, burning in the heat of the South and travelling up North, the music of America is distinct, definitive and deliberate. In particular, the passion I have for country music and the subgenres that have developed out of its southern roots has taken over my playlists, record collection and interests. These lyrical and sonic stories are the culmination of a nation unlike any other, one in which each story is individual yet share one landscape. Country music is honest: it is celebratory of the small moments that make up a big life, contains enough pain to make you cry even on a sunny day, or offer you the exact song you need for a solo drive with the windows down - after all, it can break your heart with three chords and the truth.

Sharing my love for this music through writing is something I only hope to do as frequently as I can, whether that be in opinion form, as a review of a new release, or just to help other people get their voices into the world.

Please get in touch with me about any writing or publishing opportunities - or just with some music recommendations!

As an aspiring music journalist and writer, I appreciate any available opportunities and support. If you read something you’re interested in, or think I could write something for you, please let me know.
